Early in November ransomware hackers stole company data from Capcom’s Computer Systems. Capcom has refused to give in to demands and now the hackers have leaked the next 4 years of Capcom game releases. Games from the likes of Streetfighter to Monster Hunter and more. One of those franchises to stand out was Resident Evil, which had multiple releases outed.

The first is Resident Evil Outrage for 2021, this could be could for Outbreak is a familiar name to hardcore Resident Evil fans. The Resident Evil Outbreak series released 2 games on the PS2 and was the first Resident Evil game to have online multiplayer. It had five scenarios for people to chose from and 8 playable characters, which is more than the usual 2-person option that we normally see. Each character had unique items and moves, like games of today with specific classes and benefits for certain character combos. If they can make a high-quality game, this could possibly be a big hit since people love coop experiences and would be fun to have characters with different moves and abilities. The previous Outbreak games featured a zoo so imagine getting chased by a zombie elephant in 4k.

The second leaked date was for 2022 and it revealed a massive fan favorite which was the Resident Evil 4 remake. Regarded as one the best Resident Evil games and one the best action games off all time. It is no surprise that Capcom is willing to double down on that success and gives us a modern take on that 15-year-old adventure. They can easily use the Leon actor from the Resident Evil 2 remake and give us modern control options for moving while aiming your gun. Will it be a hit, or will it be known is one of those ‘the original was better’ scenarios only time will tell. I kept my original 2005 GameCube copy of the game and I am excited to play this version.

The third leak is for 2023 and this time I have no clue what to expect, the game is called Biohazard Apocalypse. For those who do not know Biohazard is the Japanese title for Resident Evil. So, you can call it Resident Evil Apocalypse and my first thought is are they going to go the route of the films on this one. In the film series the outbreak starts off in specific towns like the game but later expands into a worldwide apocalypse. This is like The Walking Dead comics and shows. I personally do not like this approach because the series is about using these highly skilled heroes to stop the evil Umbrella Corporation from ruining the world. It would be a lost cause if the world is infected and most of the population is dead. The movie series just ended up that way with the heroes and villains battling to the bitter end, with no world to fight for.

The final leak is for Resident Evil Hank in 2024 which was a most likely a code name since I don’t recall a main character in the franchise named Hank. There is a mysterious soldier named Hunk who worked for the Umbrella Corporation behind the scenes. Not much is known about him and I would be surprised if his name was strong enough to carry a game. These leaks should be taken lightly since there is no guarantee that all these games will be released.
